3.2 How Often Should You Market?

REMARKETING THE BOOK CLUB

While PBC Guru manages all content, communications, and moderation of your book club, one of the key ways to engage new members and re-engage members who have dropped off is to (re)market your book club. We’ve put together a list of top-level recommendations for marketing below:

• If your team has the capacity to do so, we recommend creating a landing page on your homesite for the book club that redirects non-members to the sign-up page and members to our online forum. It’s a great way to passively market the book club. If you pursue this option, we recommend creating the landing page in a way that does not require updating.
• Include updates in your alumni newsletters or marketing for other events.
• Send out social media pushes announcing the next book club selection.

YOU’RE NOT ALONE IN YOUR MARKETING EFFORTS!

Your Book Club Operations Manager will provide pre-drafted marketing for each reading period, which we encourage you to take advantage of! If you are reading a custom book, you will receive generic marketing centered on seasonal reading-related events/holidays, and if you are reading a PBC Guru / Author Talk book, you will receive pre-drafted marketing collateral focusing specifically on the selected title. Regardless of your marketing efforts, our highest recommendation is to always send out a New Year’s email in January to capture the attention of those hoping to read more in the new year.
