Why does PBC Guru not recommend hiatuses?
Disruption of a book club causes programs to lose their most engaged members. Sometimes clients consider hiatuses because engagement has dipped, but stopping a program altogether, albeit temporarily, often causes more engagement issues. Developing a marketing strategy to reach a new book club audience is oftentimes a more successful strategy.

Where can I view participant lists?
You can find participant lists by logging into the admin dashboard at pbc.guru/admin.
Does PBC Guru perform surveys?
PBC Guru collects information from book club members at the end of Author Talks and is currently developing regular surveying of book club members. If you are curious about collecting information and feedback, you can develop a survey independently and either 1.) use the participant list to create a mail merge for your survey, 2.) post the survey in the discussion forum, and/or 3.) reach out to your Book Club Operations Manager to include the survey in a forthcoming email.
Can I edit PBC Guru emails to customize them?
PBC Guru does not offer customized email options, in order to keep the management of your program streamlined, cost-effective, and efficient. Under our current program structure, we have found that disrupting our communications process often leads to delays and mistakes otherwise easily avoided.
What if I have a special event I want to promote?
Reach out to your Manager at least one week in advance with copy exactly as you would like it to appear in the email. Make sure you have tested all links and edited the copy for any grammatical or factual errors. If you reach out with less than a week, it is at the discretion of your Manager as to whether than can accommodate this. Typically, no edits are made to emails less than 48 hours before their originally scheduled time.
Should I, as a Book Club Admin, spend time in the forum participating?
If you have the bandwidth and desire to do so, we recommend having at least one person from your office participate in the book club. If possible, we highly encourage using the book club as an activity for interns.
I want to change my sign-up page. Who should I contact?
Reach out to your Manager. If they are unable to perform the update themselves, then they will coordinate internally to complete them.
How does renewal work?
In the months leading up to your renewal, you will receive an invoice from our Finances team. If you have any contractual or finance questions, you can direct them to our representative at that time. Also, keep in mind that PBC Guru is flexible with renewal payments – you can pay earlier or later if it works better for your fiscal year planning. Just reach out to your Manager and they will connect you with the appropriate PBC Guru contact.
